Privacy Policy

Greenlit Rentals is booking and fleet software for golf cart and LSV rental companies. It is built and run by Really Guy Labs. This policy explains what data we handle, why, and what happens to it.

It covers this website (greenlitrentals.com), the Greenlit app (app.greenlitrentals.com), and the booking sites we host for rental companies, whether those run on a greenlitrentals.site address or on the company's own domain.

If you rented a cart

You booked with a rental company, not with us. That company decides what to collect from you and why. We store it on their behalf so they can run your rental. Depending on what they ask for, that can include:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
  • The delivery address for your rental.
  • Your booking: dates, cart, add-ons, and price.
  • The rental agreement you signed. When you sign, we record your typed name, your initials if asked, the time, your IP address, and your browser type. That record is what proves the agreement was signed, so it has to be solid.
  • Photos you upload, such as a driver's license or proof of insurance, and photos of the cart's condition.

Your card number never touches us. Payment runs through the rental company's own Stripe or Square account. Those companies handle your card details under their own privacy policies. We see the outcome of the payment, not the card.

License and insurance photos are sensitive, so we treat them differently. They are encrypted with a key specific to your rental company, and we remove them from our systems a set time after the rental ends. Before that happens, the rental company can have its records delivered to storage it owns, because rules in many places require them to keep rental records for years. Once records are in the company's own storage, that company controls them, not us.

If you want your data corrected or deleted, start with the rental company you booked with. It is their customer relationship and their call. If you cannot reach them, email us at reallyguylabs@gmail.com and we will help.

If you run a rental company on Greenlit

We collect what we need to run your account:

  • Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
  • Your subscription billing, handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
  • Your business settings: company name, branding, carts, prices, rental agreement text, and policies.
  • Connections you choose to make: your Stripe or Square account for taking payments, your own domain, your email sending domain, and your own storage for records. We store the keys and tokens those connections need, encrypted.

Everything your renters enter belongs to your business. We process it to run the software for you. We do not sell it, mine it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Google Drive, if you connect it

You can connect a Google account so Greenlit delivers your booking records to your own Google Drive. Here is exactly what that connection does.

What we ask for. We request Google's drive.file permission. It only lets Greenlit see and manage files and folders that Greenlit itself creates in your Drive. We cannot see, open, or search anything else in your Drive. We do not ask for your email, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data beyond the basic profile Google shares when you sign in to connect.

What we do with it. Greenlit creates a folder in your Drive and uploads one folder per completed booking: the record of the rental, the signed agreements, and any documents like license photos. It reads back only the files it wrote, to confirm each upload landed. That is the whole job.

What we store. We store the sign-in tokens Google gives us, encrypted, along with the folder location and a receipt for each upload. We do not copy any other content from your Drive, because we cannot see any.

What we share. Nothing. We do not transfer Google user data to anyone else, do not sell it, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train AI models. No person at Greenlit reads it, except if you ask us to help with a support problem, if we need to for security reasons, or if the law requires it.

How to disconnect. Disconnect Google Drive in your Greenlit settings and we delete the stored tokens. You can also revoke Greenlit's access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Files already delivered to your Drive are yours and stay put.

Greenlit Rentals' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where your data lives

Greenlit runs on Cloudflare's network, with data stored in a Neon Postgres database and Cloudflare R2 storage in the United States. Everything moves over encrypted connections. Sensitive documents and connection credentials are encrypted at rest with per-company keys.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with the services that make Greenlit work:

  • Cloudflare hosts the software and storage.
  • Neon hosts the database.
  • Stripe and Square process payments, on the rental company's own account and ours for subscriptions.
  • Resend sends emails such as booking confirmations and password resets.
  • Google, only if a rental company connects Google Drive for its own records.

Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy. Beyond that, we disclose data only if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users from fraud or abuse.

Cookies and tracking

We keep it minimal. The app and booking sites use cookies to keep you signed in and to hold your booking while you complete it. Booking forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. This marketing site has no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.

How long we keep data

Account data lasts as long as the account. When a rental company closes its account, we delete its data after a short wind-down window that lets them export first. Renter documents are removed on the schedule described above, after the rental company has had the chance to move its records to storage it owns.

Children

Renting a cart means driving one, so our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects rental companies on Greenlit, we will email them first.
